In Santa Croce sull’Arno, province of Pisa, in the municipal council room that was kindly made available by the Administration, the first My Life game session took place today, March 30, 2022 with the members of the House’s council commission of RSA “Meacci”. The aim of the meeting was not only to present the Erasmus Plus project “My Life in Europe” and the related game, experimenting it directly in the context of the current test phase of the project, but also, thanks to the presence of the animator of the structure, to involve the elderly of the Nursing Home at a later time. The project, in addition to the aim of spreading the autobiographical methodology in various contexts and creating a European archive of memory, also has the objective of promoting social inclusion, mitigating the sense of loneliness and favoring the beneficial effects that group activities and online have on the cognitive functioning of the elderly. The prospect of being able to experience, through play, the therapeutic power of autobiographical writing and sharing, within the RSA, is very important and suggestive, also considering the possibility of extending the experience to other structures in the area.
During the two and a half hours of meeting, curiosity, sharing of reflections and proposals were elements that gave energy to the group of participants and created an atmosphere of serenity, with the prospect of meeting again shortly for a new game session.
In the photos, the Mayor Giulia Deidda, the new animator Irene Noto, the members of the council commission: Donatella Boldrini, Catia Petri, Lorena Mugnai, Rita Vivaldi, Grazia Chiarini, president of the commission and referent of the Libera Università dell’Autobiografia, partner of the project My Life. Marta Rofi and Mauro Bachini, who were unable to attend the first session, will participate in the next meeting.
